Wanna make phone calls on your iPad? Now you can with the Whistle Phone app.  Whistle allows you to call anyone in the U.S for free.  Low rates are available for international calls.

Whistle is a VoIP style app that can make phone calls using a 3G or Wifi signal.  There’s a little process to get started but if you’re patient with the login and authorization process you’re good to go; you’re also given your own phone number as well. I’ve been told and read from others that using the headphone/mic configuration like an iPhone headset is the way to go to use this app.  If you check out Whistle phone’s website they say there’s a feature you can use called ‘follow me’ which will reroute your whistle calls to your other phones.  Pretty cool stuff.
