Mysteries of the iPad 2
There are rumors surfacing that Apple will release a new version of the iPad called the iPad 2. Digitimes, has reported that Apple will release three versions of the iPad 2 which will have more connectivity options. But what is the release date for the iPad 2? Whoa Nelly, all we know is that the iPad 2 will be released sometime in 2011 and it should support any combination of Wifi, CDMA, and UMTS.
Digitimes explained that most of the Ipads that have been sold to the public are 3G models which show that consumers prefer to be always connected to the internet. This is why Apple is focusing on working closely with telecom carriers so that they can provide more connectivity solutions to satisfy the demands of the market.
Other sources say that the iPad 2 will be faster than the first generation iPads. Anonymous tipsters who have inside knowledge on the iPads’ suppliers say that the iPad 2 will have a thinner and rounder body. Engadget and others are reporting that the iPad 2 will have an SD slot, but not a USB. It will have a new dynamic screen resolution (similar to the retina display on the iPhone 4, but not exactly the same).
Most people are also hoping that the next iPad will have two cameras, one at the back and one in front. This would mean that the video-calling feature of Facetime on the iPhone 4 is a certainty for the iPad 2. A report from Appleinsider says that Facetime video call features for the iPad 2 is already in its advanced testing stages.
Nothing will be fully confirmed until Apple releases its official statements on the second generation iPad. For now, all we have are rumors and speculation until they officially release the product. Some sources say that the product will be out in April or May, while still others say we’ll all have to wait until the Christmas season of 2011. For now, all we can do is wait, and just hope that they will have some more specs out sometime soon.
By the way, whatever the upgrades and advancements that are introduced with the iPad 2, it’s safe to say that it will lead to some interesting new apps for us to spend even more countless hours with.
