When it comes to remote control apps for Apple devices, LogMeIn seems to be taking the lead. Their namesake application, LogMeIn for Mac, has been available for quite some time in free and paid versions.
LogMeIn Ignition is an app made for iPad or iPhone that lets you remotely access one or more of your computers from anywhere, at anytime. You can directly control your desktop, all your apps and all your files, with just a simple touch. LogMeIn is not new to the remote access world, however, now with the availability to iPad, the entire screen of the remote computer can be fully viewed and users can get a lot done with minimum amount of zooming in and out; a difficult task on the previous iPhone versions. The iPad app also displays different resolutions of the remote computer, making it easier to fit on the screen. LogMeIn Ignition also supports the two-finger tap for right-clicking, which saves you from having to manually switch between click functions on the app’s tool bar.
So imagine you’ve left an important document on your computer at your office, and you needed to work on it at home for an early morning meeting; no worries, just log in remotely with your iPad and LogMeIn Ignition, and you’re all set.
LogMeIn provides two distinct advantages over most clients — it’s well-supported and it is a cinch to set up. As you can tell, this app obviously did its job well. It’s stable and works upon the framework of a system that has obviously undergone a lot of testing. Whether you’re an individual who just needs to control one other Mac or PC remotely, or if you need to support an enterprise full of personal computers of any flavor, LogMeIn Ignition is worthy of your consideration.
Best App for Tracking Packages. Who knew tracking deliveries could be so classy?
If you needed proof that the iPad could make anything beautiful, look no further than Delivery Status Touch, a bigger, shinier version of the iPhone app that is dedicated solely to tracking your packages.
The premise is pretty straight forward: if you’re a person who’s buying or selling a lot of stuff online, Delivery Status will keep track of all those tracking numbers, from the big guys like UPS and FedEx, Apple and Amazon, all the way down to the other courier companies. It shows each tracked item in a side pane with color coded tabs and provides large, multi-touch maps of their whereabouts on the right.
Delivery Status helps you keep track of all your packages, so you always know when they’re going to arrive. The main view shows the latest status of your packages, and counts down to the estimated delivery date. Tap a delivery for more information, and if you like you can view the shipping company’s web page, or see where your packages are on a map.

I actually like the new Splashtop Remote over the LogMeIn Ignition App. The fact that SR can transfer not only the application, but sound from my PC to my iPad clinched it for me. How do you feel they stack up to one another?
