With more than 2,000+ iPad apps available now in the App store, the choices are already daunting. To aid you in finding the best apps, we’ve put together a list that we thought are worthy of your money & time.
A definite MUST HAVE for iPad! It instantly connects you to any computer!
Amazing, isn’t it?
Apple copped out on giving the iPad a real desktop operating system, but if you still want the features of OS X or Windows in a tiny tablet form factor, Desktop Connect can deliver. It streams a live view of a running desktop computer straight to your iPad, effectively giving you a 9.7-inch window to your 50-pound powerhouse of a desktop – right in your lap.
Desktop Connect enables your iPad to:
• View websites with Adobe Flash.
• Launch and view any application on your desktop.
• Remotely control Media Players and PowerPoint Presentations.
• Access an important business document while you travel.
• Guide your office administrator as you watch the desktop remotely.
• Help your grandmother on her computer as she downloads your childhood photos.
Desktop Connect is built to fully leverage the iPad:
• Captures a Screenshot of your last session for easy future reference to connect.
• Single Click Connect where no setup is required.
• Optimized Performance for fast and responsive control of your computer.
• Browse easily through all computers on your network.
• Bookmark your favorite frequently used computers for convenient access.
• Use your iPad as a touch screen or as a touchpad.
Privacy and Encryption:
• 128-bit encryption for all passwords.
• Restrict access to Desktop Connect with a pass code. Protect your private information from others.
PopCap’s infamously addictive tower defense game takes root on the iPad just as happily as it has on the computer and the iPod before it, with the same ridiculous premise: Seed a lawn full of anthropomorphic plants to defend against wave after wave of invading zombies. If that’s not good clean fun, we don’t know what is.
The game is beautiful, and tower defense titles (of which I’m a huge, huge fan) obviously work wonderfully on a large touch screen. I was quickly suckered into way too much “test” time with Plants Vs Zombies, despite it being far simpler than the hardcore tower defense games I usually play (you don’t route enemies through a maze like other games, and towers don’t have quite the same rock, paper, scissors effects). It’s just charming, addictive eye candy.
Andrew Stein, director of mobile business development at PopCap revealed, “The iPad is a fantastic platform for gaming, and Plant vs Zombies HD allows us to show off the great new features and functionality of this exciting device. In this adaptation, we’ve focused on the iPad‘s Multi-touch capabilities and opportunities for new game play like the Buttered Popcorn mini-game that will excite both new and current players.”
